Captain Asteroid Season One was a Cinemadrome "series" style event, premiering on May 20, 2017. It was the first "series" style event for Cinemadrome. Teams were tasked to create a 10 minute episode of the Cinemadrome original sci-fi serial "Captain Asteroid", about a Dimensional Time Force commander who is able to travel across time and space by dimension-hopping, with the caveat that his outward physical appearance changes with every teleport. Teams were given a style guide and required elements, which guided them to help create cohesion between the episodes. This event was conceptualized by James Barratt, one of the founding members of Cinemadrome.
