2 RAD 2 DAPTATIONS!
We had so much fun with our adaptation style event last year, that we're doing the sequel, RADAPTATIONS 2: 2 RAD 2 DAPTATIONS! Teams will have two weeks to create their own adaptation of a public domain work.

How Does It Work?
At sign-ups, teams will have the option to either choose their Source Material or their Genre. Based on whether you chose your source or genre, the other will be randomly drawn. You then make a short film combining the two!
What Is The Public Domain And What's In It?
The public domain is any creative work that is not protected by intellectual property laws, and there are thousands of notable works, including the complete works of William Shakespeare, Roman and Greek Mythology, and novels such as The Great Gatsby, Frankenstein, Dracula, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and many (many) more! There are lots of films, stage plays and characters also in the public domain, but be sure to check their status with Cinemadrome first.
What Is A Radaptation?
A radaptation is NOT a swede (though the janky low/no-budget style is always welcome at Cinemadrome). Special effects and post production methods are allowed! Using the source material as much or as little as you want, the idea is to create a completely new film of your own creation based upon the original work. The inclusion of a genre will help guide your team on how different (or same-y) your adaptation is. The possibilities are truly endless!

The Details
Official sign-ups will begin on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 6pm, but you can sign up early now! Teams can sign-up at the Backyard with a Cinemadrome representative or by completing the online sign-up form. Teams will then have two weeks to complete their film with the submission deadline being June 17, 2023, at 8pm. The live screening will be held at The Backyard on June 24, 2022, at 8pm(ish).

Renovations at The Hipp Cinema hit a little snag and they won't be ready in time for our late-June date. They are still our homies and we will be back for the next event!
